Foreign Direct Investment between US and Finland holds massive capacity for growth

The prognosis is only mildly assuring: despite global recession and high growth from emerging markets, the transatlantic market place continues to remain the world's largest commercial artery. According to The Center for Transatlantic Relations Johns Hopkins University's annual survey of Jobs, Trade and Investment between the US and Europe published last week, US investment flow to Europe considerably outweighs US investment elsewhere. However, investment flow between the US and Finland, while respectably modest, is severely imbalanced.

Lehtomäki urges clean tech to tap into historic strengths

A week ago, Finland’s Cleantech Sector was ranked third in the top ten Cleantech Cluster Organizations for 2010, in a comparison carried out by US-based Sustainable World Capital. Finland was the leader among the Nordic Countries, following only Austria and the United States. Minister of the Environment, Paula Lehtomäki urged Finnish companies to use their historic advantage in a country of limited resources to conquer the world market when she addressed guests at AmCham’s Annual General Meeting Dinner on Thursday, 11th of March at Hotel Presidentti.

Advice from AmCham FutureMoney: Sisu and Networking

The inaugural AmCham FutureMoney event, held last week at the event sponsor Finnvera’s premises turned out to be a success. The auditorium was buzzing with some seventy members of the venture capital ecosystem. Many agreed that this type of an event is sorely needed and has been lacking so far. Never before have PricewaterhouseCoopers and Dow Jones presented their data in the same event in Finland. Although the numbers had been public for a couple of weeks, the analysis given by the experts provided the added value to the attendees.
