Policy Committee to dialogue with Parliamentarians
Tax reform and the transatlantic relationship will top the agenda of the dialogue between Amcham’s Policy Committee and the Parliamentary Finnish-American Friendship Group this week. This Thursday’s working meeting at Eduskuntalo will see Members of Parliament and the Policy Committee, chaired by Max Mickelsson (Microsoft Oy) focus on driving foreign direct investment through tax reform. They will also discuss openly Foreign Minister Alexander Stubb’s landmark Chatham House speech on the Transatlantic relationship.
AmCham remains committed to its role of lending a credible corporate voice to the ongoing tax reforms.
Earlier this year, member companies prioritized their topmost concerns on the prevailing taxation system in a survey led by the chamber’s policy Committee. The overarching goal: making Finland more conducive for international business.
Since then, the committee has met with Finance Minister Katainen twice: first to present the survey findings, and again with their proposals of specific recommendations for addressing hot button tax issues.
