In a league of their own: AmCham and Finland’s ice-hockey legends champion new business across the Atlantic
This October, some twenty AmCham members will head to Chicago with NHL stars with a singular game plan: to advance Finland’s business and brand in the U.S through a shared passion for icehockey. Hockey greats Christian Ruuttu, Jarkko and Tuomo Ruutu, Petri Skriko, Juha Rantasila and Mikko Ruutu joined AmCham in announcing the partnership over a golf friendly today.
AmCham’s nouveau partnership with SM Liiga-Alumni, Finland’s professional ice-hockey league offers a fresh perspective to promoting the transatlantic relationship, by leveraging on the experience, fame and brand of Finland’s greatest sports exports. The cooperation called ‘Finnish Conference: Hockey with Business’ draws its name from a cheeky reference to NHL arena terminology, which currently divides teams into eastern and western conferences
The 'Finnish Conference' delegation will be hosted in Chicago by NHL’s Chicago Blackhawks.
At the heart of the five-day trip is a brand and marketing seminar featuring top level speakers from the best known American consumer and sports brands: MacDonalds, NHL, Chicago Blackhawks, to name a few as well as key private and public sector figures from Chicago’s business community.
The conference will also feature a corporate networking program, golf with the Finnish and American alumni teams and a home game with the Blackhawks.
The specific dates for the trip will be finalized when the current game season ends.
Creative agency TBWA\Helsinki, an AmCham member, will drive all public relations and marketing activities for this initiative.
Stay tuned for more details on trip dates and prices. This program is exclusively for AmCham members. Contact member relations manager Annukka Junnila at annukka.junnila@amcham.fi if you'd like to hear more!
