Q: Whose interests do you promote?
A: We promote the interests of AmCham Finland's member companies.
Q: Your member base is versatile. How do you define what is of interest to your member companies?
A: AmCham Finland has a Policy Committee that convenes regularly to identify issues that arise from our member base. Committees and AmCham policy experts formulate our positions. Draft of these position papers are made available to member companies for commentary and input. They are then made public.
Q: Do you receive funding from the US government?
A: No.
Q: Do you receive funding from the Finnish government?
A: No.
Q: Do you receive funding from the United States Chamber of Commerce?
A: No.
Q: How do you finance your work?
A: We have three revenue streams: membership fees, sponsorships and event fees. Everything we do is privately funded.
Q: What is your relationship with the US Chamber of Commerce?
A: We are part of the global AmCham network accredited by the U.S. Chamber. This allows AmCham Finland to use the world-famous AmCham brand. We cooperate closely with the U.S. Chamber on joint projects such as the European Union (EU) legislation on chemicals (REACH). Click here to go to our REACH website and learn more. We do not report to the U.S. Chamber or depend on them financially, operationally, structurally or in any other way.
Q: Who leads AmCham Finland's work?
A: AmCham Finland is member-driven and member-led. Its success and future direction depend on the active participation and input of its member companies. AmCham Finland is governed by a 15-member Board of Directors, which is elected every two years. Click here to see the current AmCham Board of Directors. Q: Who Attends AmCham events?
A: AmCham Finland's events reach the upper echelon management of its more than 200 American, Finnish and multinational corporations. Regular attendees include executives, key politicians, leading civil servants, news media, and trade publication media. Our events are geared towards our member companies and their workforce. Every year we have a select number of key events open to the public.
